WTPN is offering you an opportunity to seize the moment, and capitalize on the current pause in our communities to act and organize, while there is still time.

We want to speak to you today about the unfortunate fact most of us have become disconnected from our communities.

If your like most people with perhaps the exception of rural communities it is more than probable that you don’t know your neighbors. You may know the names of the men and women that live right next to you but how about those down the street?

So today we would like to introduce you to the:

WTPN FLYER A FLAG
COMMUNITY PROGRAM

one of the topics we said we were planning on talking about on our initial

PODCAST OVERVIEW,
WAS THE IMPORTANCE OF CONNECTING WITH COMMUNITY.
MANY OF US DON'T KNOW OUR NEIGHBORS NAMES, AND IF WE DO KNOW OUR NEIGHBORS NAMES WE DON'T KNOW THE HOUSE OR THE APARTMENT THREE DOORS DOWN FROM US.
That's why we came up with our
WTPN FLYER A FLAG
COMMUNITY PROGRAM

It's imperative in a time of emergency whatever that emergency is, that not only do you know

the people in your community but that you have a way of coordinating with them.

FLYER A FLAG works with an easy acronym and pun to remember

Flyer a Flag Flyer

The program is called

KNOCK

K stands for Knowing, know your neighbors.

N stands for Now, there is no more time to waste you must take action now!

O stands for Organizing, organize your neighbors.

C stands for Communicating with your neighbors and set up a system of contact.

K stands for Kindness encouraging you to work in mindset of service to others.

All you have to do is go to our website download, and print out the Flyer a Flag flyer

we have provided, and place it on your neighbors front door or in their mailbox.

In this subtle way you will be inviting your friendly neighborhood flag flyers to stand with you as
We the People.

Your'e asking them to stand with you right now at a time of pause, and if required

later at a time of need.

First you have to get to know your neighbors. For some of us it is difficult to break the ice. We have been conditioned by the powers that be to keep to ourselves and distrust everyone else.

Well that's where the flyer comes in, it's a simple way to initiate and open up a line of conversation, and intent.

We are providing you with a list of simple things you, and your community can do to ensure you and your families security in case of an unforeseen event.

SUGGESTIONS:

1: Develop a form of communication, in case traditional modes fail.

This could include bells, horns, light signals or others.

2: Decide on a central meeting place and have an alternate should this location now be safe.

It is a good idea to have both a structure and and alternate park or wooded area, designated.

3: Have a head count, and a list of all family members names in the community.

4: Put a recommended check list together of items each home should have.

PREPPING 101: THE STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO SURVIVING

Getting prepared for a minor emergency sounds complicated enough as it is, but prepping for a major disaster can be downright overwhelming.

Most people quit before they even begin, but it’s actually really easy and inexpensive. Approach prepping gradually and in stages.  You don’t jump directly into the deep end with a full-on luxury doomsday bunker… you start with what the government is now ignoring. We need to begin with the basics. Food, water, shelter, health, finances… this is where it all starts. Eventually you can get more in depth the higher up you go, but we begin with this base. Here’s a big shoutout to theprepared.com.  You can navigate directly to the items that are listed, and even buy them directly to continue your prepping plan. It’s the easiest way to not only get started, but to make sure you stay on your plan and move forward with it.

“Prepper's Rule of Three’s.”

  • You can survive for 3 minutes without air.

  • 3 hours without shelter in bad conditions.

  • 3 days without water.

  •   3 weeks without food.

Lock these down and you are about 90 percent of the way there.

These are the 6 basic steps to prepping.

1. Build a solid personal finance and health foundation.

2. Get ready for at least 2 weeks.

3. Know when to bug out (have bags ready).

4. Prepare for emergencies away from home.

5. Learn core skills and practice.

6. Build a base of like minded friend and family.

*TOP TWO ARE FINANCE AND HEALTH*

FINANCE

• Build a solid personal finance and health foundation.

• The best way to insulate yourself from an economic crisis is to get as debt free as you can.

• We also need to get into the financial position where we can dedicate a few extra dollars each

month to advancing our prep plan.

• Don’t overspend or go crazy right off the bat.

• Just do what you responsibly can.

HEALTH

• We also need to make sure that bad health won’t get in the way of surviving when it’s needed.

• Can you walk a considerable distance if needed?

• Can you carry things that you used to just throw in a car?

• Finances and health are at the top of the list.

• Get your home ready for two weeks of self-reliance.

The government used to say 72 hours, but as we saw in places like New York after Hurricane Sandy

that’s bull crap. In some cases, people were without power for up to two weeks.

• This list of basic needs is also up at theprepared.com.

THESE ARE THE BASICS

  • Water: Store 15 gallons of water per person — that’s one gallon per person each day.

  • Food: You need a total of 23,000 calories per person — That’s around 1,500 calories per day.

  • Fire: Have lighters, matches, fire starters, etc.

  • Light: Flashlights, candles, lanterns.

  • Heating and cooling: Indoor-safe heaters, extra blankets, and a USB powered fan.

  • Shelter: beyond your home, have a few tarps for improvised shelter if needed.

  • Medical: Create a list of home medical supplies that everyone in your family needs.

  • Hygiene: Get wet-wipes, hand sanitizer, and camp soap.

  •  Communications: Learn how to use a HAM radio, and OR grab a one-way NOAA radio.

  • Power: Get spare batteries, rechargers, and invest in a solar charger.

  • Tools: Axe, shovel, work gloves, wrenches for utility lines, zip ties, and of course… duct tape.

  • Self-defense: This is up to personal comfort level, but guns and ammunition are what you may choose.

  • Cash: Store as much as you can affordably keep.

  • Clothing: Proper clothing, rain gear, and footwear (waterproof hiking boots)

  • Other: Also think about bartering items (alcohol, cigarettes, etc.), as well as precious metals.

BUG OUT BAGS

All of these items should be the foundation for your evolving plan. But, eventually, you need to consider that your home is no longer safe to hunker down in. Try and be aware of when it’s time, if needed, to get the heck out of dodge. If the time comes to bug out, have “go bags” pre-prepared for each member of the family. This is a list of a typical “go bag”, and it covers the basic needs for one person while transporting from one shelter to another.

OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER

• Prepare for emergencies that happen away from home.

• Exercise your 2nd Amendment right to protect yourself, and have a plan for the whole family to rally

together and get back home.

• Learn core skills and practice with your gear.

• Share what you’ve learned, and build a base of like minded friends and family.

• This is how you begin, but it doesn't mean everything has to come together all at once.

• Start small, and gradually check things off the list.

• You’ll be ready for two full weeks of self-reliance, and you don’t have to stop there.

• An attack on the power grid could knock out power for 18 months or longer.

• Eventually you could graduate on to purchasing a generator, storing fuel.

• Prepping is something that should never really stop, but we first have to begin.

• As we mentioned earlier, being a prepper used to be something people made fun of, but now it’s

becoming mainstream.

• Everyone is now realizing that the government is not taking the basic needs of life seriously.

They have shown that we can’t rely on them.

This is up to us we just have to get started.
